What digital channels is everyone able to pick up OTA or on cable? Is TW cable doing hdtv? Is WBNS (CBS) the only channel everyone is getting OTA? also, did anyone notice that WBNS was multi-casting this weeked?

WBNS is one of the best digital stations in the US. You'll find a lot of info about WBNS-DT on their web site. And if you like the NCAA tourney, you'll love the multi-casting they do during tourney time.

Check out www.100000watts.com for more info about Columbus digital stations. Go to the listings section for details.

I live in Newark and WBNS is the only station that I can receive with an antenna in my attic. I would think that you would be able to receive the Dayton CBS affiliate if you live on the West side.

I have tried e-mailing WCMH, WSYX, and WTTE asking how soon they would be transmitting and they never responded back. I am not very hopeful when it comes to SYX and TTE they are owned by the Sinclair group.

Hi all,

This thread seemed rather timely to me ,so I thought I'd respond.

I've been trying to nail WBNS DT-21 for over two years and finally succeeded last evening on a good tropo opening to the east(137mi.).Tried to get 41 in Dayton, but no luck. Are they on low power? All analogs from Dayton last night were crystal clear.

The furthest station received was WNPB in Morgantown,WV.(305mi.)

WHIO-DT 41 has been up at full power for a couple of weeks. I receive a consistent 86 to 88 signal from 41 on a DTC-100 in Fairfield. Two CBS HDTV feeds to chose from, life is good!

I live in Xenia and I still don't get the Dayton affiliate, so there is no way you will get it all the way from Columbus...

:)

Damm!! all that from Greenville Indiana!!!! if you are able to get WBNS from there, i can't see why i can't get the dayton channels ( analog or digital). Mind telling us what your setup is (ANT, SIGNAL BOOST, RECEIVER, ETC) ?

Iwant_______now,

I punched in 43201 zip code at Ardmann site and it shows 68mi.You would most probably have to use a pre-amp for UHF.That could be a problem for you, being close to Columbus tansmitters(overloaded pre-amp).

If you want to try,I would suggest a CM 4228,mounted high-30ft.,or more,if possible, and use RG-11 coax without a pre-amp.If this doesn't work,try a pre-amp such as a Winegard AP4700.It's gonna be a crapshoot,but you never know!

Pericles,

You should be able to get DT-41,you're right next door to Dayton.

What do I use?

Oh,nothing special.

DTC-100

RG-11 coax

CM 7777 pre-amp

Winegard PR-5030 VHF

Blake DY28A Double Yagi 18.3db gain UHF

60ft.Aluminum Crank-up tower

No wife to tell me "you're insane"!

I lied.

My furthest catch the other night wasn't WNPB-24 from Morgantown WV. I scanned other channels while on this azimuth heading(83deg.)

and noticed a small upn15 "bug" floating among 2-3 other Ch 15's.I jotted down a note of it to check it out later.I just finished a search and there's only two UPN 15's in the country. One's in Huntsville,Al(202deg.),and the other one is WLYH Lancaster,Pa(79.5deg)@482mi.

Not bad for a nights *work*!

MAX HD - for some reason is not coming in. I am using the panasonic DST 50, with a radio shack antenna in my attic.....no signal on channel 41, unless I am doing something wrong.
