I think I'll be able to sneak out of work and provide an update.
It's playing on 198 with 5.1 sound, and on three channels on 10tv. 198 looks and sounds better.
I will have to take a look at D* 198...I was watching WBNS.

THe most shocking event of the day has to be that I now am able to receive ABC 6-1 WSYX. They must have finally raised the antenna to its full height...or high enough for me not to be affected by the dreaded multipath issue that I had for months. I was really hoping to be able to watch ALIAS in HD this season...AND NOW I CAN!!! WOOOHOOO! I am a happy man today.
I don't know which one looks better...but DirecTV ch. 198 sounds better. The DD 5.1 on 198 is much fuller than the wimpy sound WBNS is putting out.

Damnit! Is DirecTV showing USA Network's coverage on the HD-PPV channel? I really wish they would mention this stuff in their online Program Guide.

Did anyone notice any surround on the Final Four games. I watched part of Saturday night's second game and had lots of rear surround activity, although my DD 5.1 indicator did not light on receiver. If not 5.1, it is first time I have noticed any significant rear speaker involvement from WBNS21.
got home sooner than i thought

I think the d* feed is slightly compressed. the colors are not as vivid, but it stragnly seems SLIGHTLY sharper. not by very much at all

as far as the colors, even my wife went..... ewww the d* colors stink
While I don't have D* there was an interesting difference between the USA feed and the WBNS feed on Insight. The CBS feed was better than the USA one on the temporary channel 770. There was a distinct sound difference too.

It's been a topic in the HDTV Programming forum for weeks.

I've been watching so much men's and women's hoops the past three weeks in addition to hockey and stuff that I had not even had time to care about the Masters schedule.

Also I've started to check the Columbus-specific messages lately. There's little more annoying than hearing about any and all the great programming people are getting in other places and then finding out about the pared-down offerings we will be getting here.

Besides, DirecTV failed to include it in their own online program guide.
