Comcast HD Cable in Dallas

596 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  htevolution
I am getting this installed soon. Comcast is supplying the box. What type of cable do I need to connect to my TV. My TV has both DVI and component inputs available.

Do anyone know what output options there are on the box that comcast supplies?

Thanks

Fatw,

I just had mine installed on Thursday...it rocks. No WB or UPN HD feeds though...I'm curious if the box can decode OTA signals if I plug in an antennae.?

As far as cable goes, the guy brings a 'kit' that has component video, audio, coax digital audio, s-video cables and some splitters for audio if you need more than one output. They charge $30 bucks for the kit, so it's not really a bad deal. No DVI cable though...the DVI port is enabled when they first plug in the unit it will download the firmware for it. Takes about 10-15 minutes to update your box.

The guy who installed my HD box was pretty knowledgeable...do me a favor and when he comes to hook yours up ask him about the OTA channels...I didn't think to ask my guy when he came to install :-( Thanks!

Is this true? I've had Comcast's HD service with the Moto 5100 since November (ordered it the first day it was available). At that time, the DVI port was not active.

Are you saying it is available now? Are you using it?
