Any word on this feature for series recordings? I've set the Daily Show to record new episodes only, but it still records the show everytime it airs (which is about 4 times a day). Is there anyway to get it to record just the 11pm airing? Even the manual recording settings only allow a one time recording; not a recurring recording. Thanks.

Generally, this problem stems from bad program guide data provided to Gemstar by the network itself, making each presentation of the same episode look like a "new" episode.

For most programs, as long as a specific episode is in the list of recordings waiting to be viewed on the DVR or is already scheduled to be recorded prior, the DVR will not schedule an additional recording of the same episode. (Note also, though, that once you delete a recording of a specific episode, perhaps after viewing it, the DVR will record that episode again, if the program guide data still indicates it is a [relatively] new episode.)

This is an issue with the guide data provided by Comedy Central to Tribune and Gemstar.

Some DVRs like TiVo have developed a workaround , but with other DVRs, your only [usable] option is to schedule a manual, repeating recording. If your DVR can't do manual, repeating recordings, and it can't be set to ignore broadcasts with certain words in the description, then you'll just have to live with the repeats.
