Hi:

Does anyone have Comcast HDTV with a Pio 503CMX ?

I called Comcast today to install their HDTV box on my

plasma. But they say plasma doesn't support HDTV.

I have the 5002 card. Why doesn't this support it ?

Are they wrong or do I need a different card ?

They said if my device doesn't specifically say HDTV, it won't work.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

My guess:

1. Resolution of Plasma is 768, while the 5100 output is 480, 720 or 1080.

2. 5100 does not have an active DVI output, you would have to supply the Component to DVI adapter.

With the 5002 card the Pioneer should accept the component output. I suspect the Comcast people just don't know what they're talking with. Check the plasma section of this forum for more info.

Steve: The Pio 503 and 433 with the 5002 card WILL accept HDTV and SDTV on either input 1 or 2 of the Pio in either component or RGB/hv. With the 5002 card installed and enabled via the "Integrator" menu of the Pio, you have many configuration choices. Please refer to the Plasma forum for details.

We're running three Pioneer 50" plasmas on Scientific Atlanta 3100 boxes here in the company offices. Of course, we are the cable company (Bright House Networks), and we seem to know what we're doing.

Yes it does require the video card.
