Hello,

I have Comcast Digital Cable w/ a Motorola DCT6412 DVR/HD/Digital cable box.

According to the manual, the only ports that are HD on the box are DVI, Component,

and IEEE1394. I found a TV Tuner that has (like most TV Tuners) S-Video and

Composite ports. I'm having a hard time finding adapters that will work with

both of these. Is there an adapter out there that will convert DVI/Component to

S-Video/Composite?

Will it still pass through HD?

If not, is there a Digital/HD TV Tuner for under $120 that has one of the ports

that the cable box does?

Thanks,

Gil R

You won't find what you're looking for. You can connect the s-video output from your cable box to your PC's tuner card, but that will not pass HD resolution video. Do a search for firewire recording to see if that is an option that will work for you.

Check here,

and you will see how you can record HD via the Firewire port.

I'm not doubting you, but look at the white sticker just to the right of the ports. It says 6412_P1. Maybe it's an older version?

hu, weird, I didn't even see that before. Either way he should be able to pull the data out of the Firewire port onto his computer.
