I have a Motorola DCT3416 connected via HDMI to my TV for Video and Coax/RCA Digital to my receiver.
I get intermitent audio dropout that can be remedied by FF, REW, Pause, Play or switching to another channel. Basically, it seems that it corrects itself only after you break the digital audio stream to the receiver.
The dropout happens mostly during playback of recorded shows but can happen during regular live broadcasts as well. It can happen as often as every 5 minutes or as infrequently as every 5 weeks.
I have swapped the Coax/RCA digital cable and have even had the box replaced once.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Would it be better to take a digital cable from my TV to my receiver (HDMI should take audio and video from the cable box to the TV)?
Would it be a good idea to switch to a Optical Digital Cable between the cable box and receiver?
I don't have this problem with any other components going into my receiver so I am pretty baffeled.
