Comcast Motorola HD Box (DCT 6200/6208) Audio Question

When you go into the cable box's menu and you choose audio, what options are best for use with a Denon AVR-3802 receiver via an optical connection. I have been using the "TV" option, but I had a "techie" at Comcast tell me that he personally used "Advanced" "Heavy Compression" and "Matrix Stereo" for his home theater. I tried this but the sound doesn't seem as good. It sounds muffled.


I would continue using "TV" but for some reason you have to go back into the menu and refresh the setting before it will send a digital 5.1 signal to my receiver. You don't have to change any of the settings or anything, just hit enter and bam it starts broadcasting in 5.1. What's uh...the deal?
