Comcast Sports Chicago to be HD

I hope DirecTV can figure out away to carry this in HD by next April, or I'm gonna have a touch choice to make.

The other noticeable change should be in the quality of the picture during game broadcasts. Every home game of every team will be offered in high definition right from the start.

And CSN will most likely, NEVER be on D*

Better start that decision making now.

You really have ZERO basis for this argument, especially considering that D* already has plans for HD locals. There is no reason to dismiss them doing Regional sports HD as well. There is already a long discussion on this in the HDTV Programming folder.
Yeah, Like I said, MOST LIKELY NEVER. That is not an absolute.

And CSN is not a HD Local OTA Broadcast. It is A CABLE EXCLUSIVE to Comcast. It would be more likely to show up on COX than on D* in the near future.
Read the article, CSN is not exclusive to Comcast.
Do you get Fox Sports Net on D*? I've never had satellite so I don't know...
I don't have satellite, never have, but I am pretty sure D* carries FSN.
My understanding from Comcast is that CSN-Chicago is being offered to all providers, cable and DBS unlike in Philadelphia. Whether D* will chose to carry it and its HD counterpart is another story however. My guess is that the HD channel will be carried only by Comcast systems at the outset with the SD version carried by the others. Then I would imagine other cable providers in the Chicago area will carry the HD version along with D*. Just a guess though. THis is great for us in Philly though as Comcast will be able to carry the Phillies, Sixers and Flyers games from Chicago in HD as CSN Chicago will be able to send the raw HD feed to Philly where the local graphis, announcers and commercials will be added in for broadcast here.
Baker---Show me where it says CSN High Def will be on other providers?

Heck, I just reread it 10x and it DOESN'T mention High Def at all. Maybe I can't read...
let's hope the hawks, bulls and cubs[sox too if they play the phillies]games in philadelphia'll be shown here in HD also

AS of now, I have yet to see a DC Area team play an away game in Phlilly in HD on CSN-HD.

CSN now has the capability of sneding out two HD feeds from the Wachovia Center HD studio. That is how they are sening the Phillies games out on 172 with Comcast graphics and the other feed to INHD where they add thier own graphics. IN discussing this with CSN, they are looking into doing away games starting in the fall, getting a raw HD feed and sticking in the graphics for the local braodcast. The fact that you haven't seen it yet does not mean it will not in the fall. THis could not be done with the truck CSN was sharing between Philly and DC. It is now no different than what they do with SD. The ability is now there for them to do it and I expect that they likely will. I know they are talking about it.

That's from the article. So, yes, it mentions high def. It also states that it will be made available to other providers. It doesn't say the HD feed will be, but it doesn't say it won't

So I guess you can't read.

Yup, I cant read...

I still think it is highly unlikely that CSN-HD will show up on D in the near future. BUt I Have no Basis for that line of thinking.
Ok, thanks for your negative opinion.
I'll bet you that D* will not carry it. It is a "Comcast" channel. It is similar to INHD. I am sure Comcast would make it available to D* for a price but I bet it will be steep and D* will pass. Anyway, this is old old news from 2003.
Very unlikely for CNS CHI to show up on D*.
