Minevox (formerly DVICO) released the new Android based TViX, the Xroid A1 media player featuring Sigma's SMP8656 chip. The new player will be based on Android platform, below are the key features though I expect not all will be fully implemented at initial release.
Most of these functions are being carried over from the current models, but the excitement is the browser and ability to use Droid Apps.
Android based movie/music/photo universal jukebox with DVD/BD backup
Android native web-browser
HDMI 1.3 with HD audio pass-thru
Install and run Android apps
One-click screwless HDD installation
e-SATA port
Supports cover-art user interface
User configurable user interface
TViXShrae supports sharing files between TViX users
Lossless music support (APE/FLAC/WAV)
Supports UPnP and IMS (Youtube, Picasa, weather)
Universal Jukebox function including DVD/BD backup
High definition user interface (720p) and scalable true-type vector font
Full HD 1080p resolution/streaming
Supports almost all formats of MPEG1/2/4 and Xvid and TS/TP/WMV9/H.264/RMVB-HD files
Decode and playback MP3/WMA/OGG/WAV/FLAC/APE
USB host port to connect digital camera, flash drive, external HDD
Ethernet supports NFS/Samba/UPnP
Supports both NTFS and FAT32 file system
My first question was if it will support 24Hz at release, and yes, that will be a functional feature. The A1 will also support wired or wireless USB keyboard.
Best news here is that Minevox is ready to jump back in with a Sigma based player. As we're getting close, this is a good time to get forum member feedback on what you want to see most on the A1. What say you?
