(commercial) displays at Wal*Mart?

anyone been to walmart recently? they've had widescreen TVs all over the store showing mainly stretched 4:3 ads... and i thought they were CRTs... i walked under one and looked up its skirt a couple days ago and saw that they were FLAT!

anyone else seen them? well anywho, they look too dark (not contrasty-bright enough) and not sharp enough to be plasma... and definitely not LCD. there's no way they're SED-tvs, is there? are they just plasmas, turned down, or just cheap and crappy? i thought only the newest (and most expensive) models had a decent life expectency (as they're going to be on 24/7)
