I was watching FNC last week and thought that I saw a commercial offering 3 Fox Sports channels broadcasting in HD. I'm pretty sure they were for channels in the New York area. I have not seen the commercial again since. This is on D*. Has anyone else seen this commercial? If so, can you shed a little lite on this for me?

I remember seeing commercials for "Fox Sports Digital" channels (I think they were called "east," "west," and "central") on regular analog Comcast Cable in Pittsburgh. I have no clue whatsoever what this means, but I'm guessing that you can just get national feeds from them now instead of only getting your local feed (such as Fox Sports Pittsburgh here).

If it has anything to do with ATSC/HD then I'd imagine that perhaps these are ED digital ATSC channels available over cable that sometimes broadcast 16:9 480p widescreen material. Anybody have any idea?

The only HD channel from Fox Sports Net is from NYC, which is carried exclusively by Cablevision.

You probably saw a Cablevision commercial for Fox Sports Net NY and MSG Network. FSN-NY broadcasts Mets, Devils, and Islanders home games in 1080i on it, and MSG broadcasts Mets, Rangers, and Knicks home games in 1080i, both through Cablevision.
