Community help upgrading old system

I'll compile suggestions and re-post to benefit all.

Old: WinMe, MPact2, HiPix

VGA card?
    Should be scalable (need to match 853x480 plasma or 1024x768 projector).

    VGA should have DVI out as well as HD-15 Analog.

    Must be HiPix compatible.

Sound card?

OS?

Mainboard?

Processor?

Memory?

SoftDVD Player?

DVD Hardware?

FireWire Card or onboard?
