Hi everybody,

This is my first post on this forum, but i read it since few months.

I am a French HT lover, but with only a school level in english, so forgive me if you have problems to read me

I own a Compaq Ipaq mp4800 DLP projector, which have a dvi in

I have 2 questions that French support can't answer me

First : is my dvi in compatible with hdcp ? It is very very important for me because the dvd player i want to buy only works with hdcp projectors (it is a samsung HD935)

Two : what kind of dvi in is it ? DVI-A, DVI-D ?

I hope i'll have answers, because your are my last chance :(

What ever, this forum is magic ! :)

The compaq is a business projector, so I would imagine the DVI is DVI-I, not DVI-D. As a result, it would not be compatible with HDCP. Sorry! (I've used lots of these for presentations, but I never tried running anything other than a laptop into them...).

Thanks for your answer Bill

I'm a bit disapointed if dvi can't be used on my projector :(

Are dvd players with dvi but not hdcp compatible ?

Thanks a lot :)

The DVI could be used, just not with HDCP material. I'm a bit out of my depth on the intricacies of DVI-D, but I think that there are still several DVD players out there that have DVI-I outputs. Look around, they should be there. Alternatively, there's always the HTPC route...
