I am by no way into audio, I can barely tell the difference between a 128 bitrate MP3 and 192. However, I am not the only one who watches movies at my house. I recently bought a Hitachi 57SWX20B HDTV, and now I need to add a receiver/DVD player and speakers, but I can only afford about $1000 for the entire setup. I looked at the Sony DAV-C990 and I really like that it is in a small form factor yet 600watts of power. However, I cannot go with that option, because my rear speakers have to be ceiling mounted, and the C990's are built into stands.

What would you experts here recommend for around $1000?

I can afford to go a little over, but not much.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Check out the receiver/speaker packages at onecall.com. They start at $752 and go up. You will find them under "speakers."

I have been looking everywhere online at alot of systems. I am just looking for a system that will give me the most bang for the buck, not a website that sells systems.
