Hey guys. I'll admit, I don't know much about TV's at all. Computers / iPhones are more of my thing.

Anyways, I'm in the market for an LCD. My house is generally small, so nothing huge is needed.

The Samsung A630 46inch 1080p has caught my attention. Bestbuy is offering a deal, if i get the tv, i get a free xbox 360, $200 nflshop certificate, and other crap Reading the reviews of it, the picture is great, but the sound isn't, which is just fine.

Bestbuy isn't offering a free xbox with the 650.

I really would also like to hook up my laptop and use that as a monitor and also game with.

My budget is whatevs. Lower is good, but stick below $2000.

Thank you

What is better on the A650?

I would personally get a Panny 800U. After having owned a Sony Z Series and a Sony XBR6, I would go with what I've suggested. The Sony XBR8 would by far blow you away but it's quite out of your league. The Panasonic 800U is indeed plasma but you will not regret it one bit. Cnet.com's review has claimed the Panasonic 800U as the 2nd best HDTV to own.

Well you should have no problem with hooking it up with a laptop. Just be sure to cross check the price online like in Amazon.com t make sure Best Buy isn't overcharging you.

Alright, thank you guys.

My laptops native res is 1920 x 1200 with a 7950gtx so it will be powerful enough. it does have an s video jack, but how would I hook it up? Since I would like sound too. The tv doesn't have a dvi port, but somewhere I do have a laptop cable with the red yellow black and white ports.

Get a DVI male to HDMI male cable. Your video card should have 2 ports. Try connecting a VGA to your monitor and DVI to your TV. Failing that, there are DVI splitters but not sure will Extended Desktop work with this setup. You will want to avoid S-Video as the resolution is restrictive connected this way.

This is what you need for the audio:

I went into my local best buy yesterday and asked if i could have the deal with the 46a650 instead because i liked the glossy screen. They had no problems with it and i got it for the same price as the 630. So maybe you can do the same.
