Component Board on phd8uk

631 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  RicheyPoor
While I await for stock on this pdp, I see on the web site that the component bnc input board is not color coded (red, green, blue). Does it not matter which of the three color rca cable goes into each input?

yeah, it does matter. the order is shown in the manual.
There is also a label that tells you with R B G letters (that is the order, BTW).

Hey Peter,

Did you get your 8UK yet?
Its actually stamped on the metal of the bnc board... you just have to look at it closer... you'll see it...
Well, to make it easier...

From left to right...

RED - BLUE - GREEN

RED BLUE GREEN left to right as viewed from the rear to be even more specific and it is BNC connectors not RCAs. You will need BNC to RCA adapters to use RCA ended cables.

Many component boards have been (falsely) replaced under warranty because the user tried to shove an RCA into the BNC socket spreading the inner pin. When it finally dawns that an adapter is needed, it no longer makes an electrical connection and a claim for a "bad" component board follows.

This will soon become a chargable repair by policy so newbies please be aware that all Broadcast / Industrial units use BNC video connections and require adapters or BNC to RCA cables.
