I've been searching for a reasonably priced hd video capture card (from cable box or sattelite), and finally found one with component, but for $3000, aurora igniter pro (can't post link but it will come up on a search on google or yahoo). Does anyone know of any dvi capture cards as my dish 811 hd receiver has DVI also? Or even a HD 15 RGB capture card, as dvi can be converted to RGB and remaind in high definition (not ideal, but works)?

Guys, check out this thread.

A manufacturer is considering designing a consumer version of a component capture card if enough interest is expressed on this forum. Please post your support for this card.

Thanks

The key here is that we (well at least some of us) want to save the HD to disk (presumably MPEG2 or better compression). The H3DII doesn't provide any encoding solution.
