Component Sound Sytsem for Pany 42"

Hello, I want to thank everyone on this forum, I took the collective advice and purchased the Pany 42" plasma. Great TV. We have been watching it using the tv's internal sound sytem, which is not bad, but the kids are getting itchy for some surround sound. I have been doing just as I did with the tv research, viweing the posts for sound options, but I cannot make up my mind, so I thought I would take the liberty to ask for suggestions. I would like to get separate components, and I need everything, all I have is the tv. I'd like to get by for $1500 or less. I would like the surround for the tv, but I would also like to be able to crank up the cds, ipod, and FM stations, with the ability to also put some other speakers in other rooms. So could anyone suggest a particular receiver and speaker combination? The tv does have HDMI, so I guess that is a consideration. I have been looking at the Denon AVR 2807, and the speakers?..no idea, so I am still wide open to suggestions. I would appreciate any assistance in this area.
