I find myself with a lovely new Samsung 30" 16:9 HDTV, a Toshiba DST3000 HD/DirecTV receiver, and a Toshiba SD5109 Prog Scan DVD player.

Since the TV has only 1 set of Component inputs...

1) Does anyone know of an inexpensive A/B box to allow me to use component connections from both the DTV and DVD? Automated would be great, but I'll settle for a toggle switch if necessary.

2) Barring that, just how inferior of a picture will I get by using s-video for the DVD (and using the Samsung's progressive scan).

3) If I have to choose, is it best to run HDTV through the components and the DVD through s-video.

Just found this site. GREAT input!

tks

Read the thread on component swicth... On top of spending $300, you still have to get up and manually press the button. Too much hassle. I'd recommend A/V receiver with component switch. Got the Yamaha V1000 for ~$550, works great! no... it's awesome!
