Is anyone having issues with your component video signal from the X-Box to a projector? I have a 30 ft Component cable going from my Denon 3805 receiver to my Benq PE8700 projector. When I plug my X-Box hi def pack (Have both the connectrix and the Monster Gamelink 400) into the Denon, the projector shows the X-box dashboard and as soo as it starts up the game it goes blank and the signal dies. I have tried directly plugging in the 30 ft cable to my Hi-def pack with the same results. It does not seem to be the 30 ft cable as I can plug in the standard def pack directly into the projector or Denon (WHoch forwards it out the 30ft component cable) and it plays fine. I really want my x-box to be able to output 480p and 720p. Does this sound like a signal issue with the X-box? If I plug a DVD player into the same setup, no issues with video.

Thanks,

Titus

I just read this somewhere about the BenQ:

Quote:
Two sets of inputs on the PE8700 accept component sources. The standard component input (with RCA jacks) will accept only 480i. A second set of jacks (BNCs) provides the so-called RGB/HDTV input, which will accept a wide variety of input resolutions

It looks like you'll have to feed the HDTV signals through either the BNC port or the DVI port.. Maybe the easiest in your scenario would be to try some RCA->BNC (male) adapters for your existing cable runs to try it out.

Thats a good question. Just went and checked the Benq site for the manual and read it (That was painful for a techie, reading manuals actually cause me pain) but your right, the basic component inputs only support 480i, and I need to use component to RGB cables (Included with the Benq) to connect to the Component HD RGB connectors. So I suppose thats why the dashboard (which is 480i, I havent done the swap to 480p dash) looks fine and the game goes crazy as it switches to 480 or 720p. Appreciate the help. Kicking myself for not thinking of that. Haha. Manuals!

Thanks for the help all. Added some BNC adapters to the end of my RCA Component video cable and plugged it in RGB to my Benq PE8700 and bingo, 100" of beautiful 720p hi-def X-men Legends action.

Thanks again,

I also have a BenQ 8700+ (Using BNC connection) connect to an HDTV PAck for Xbox.

My question is, do I have to check the hdtvarcade.com list to know if the game I'm using supports 16:9 (so that I use anamorphic) or is there a trick to find out if it supports it.

X-Men Legends looks night and day difference from 480i to 720p. Great game and gorgeous. As for how to know, the boxes all tell you if they support widescreen or 480p/720p/1080i. If you dont have the boxes handy, then HDTVarcade.com is a good place to check.

Thanks,
