The above is a typical AC powered remote component switch box, I have one and use it just fine for component jacked devices (DVD, PS3, Cable set top box).

Question if I buy another similar switchbox can I run composite (yellow video, R&L audio) cables into the switchbox and composite cables out to the composite jack on my TV?

In other words the switchbox is designed for component and I want to use it for composite, is this possible? composite in composite out...

Thanks.

It's all just 75 Ohm analog singnals, whether it is composite or component. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you're inclined, I would suggest testing it temporarily with your current switchbox to make sure it works before buying a second.

I used to do the opposite using composite/stereo audio switch box for component video. If you don't have a very long video cable, it makes no sense. With any analog video, the longer the cable or poorly unshielded cables create the most interference on the video quality. Also I use the closest input port to the output port to reduce the wiring distance inside the switch box. If it's unpowered switch box, it makes some difference in the video quality.

The now tested Dynex works great for composite and component.

Two Dynex boxes work well together because remote beam pattern is narrow enough to select either Dynex with the clicker.

Thanks for the tip to keep analogue cables like composite cables short.

Much obliged, all!
