Sorry, newbie here. I've been reading for days, but I'm still clueless.

Is there such a thing as a receiver (in the $300-400 range) that can take my inputs from:

Xbox (composite), Xbox 360 (component), PS3 (HDMI), and have them all output on the same HDMI OUT on the receiver? I'm trying to eliminate most of the cables running to the TV.

How do I know which receivers will do this; what do I look for?

I recently bought (then returned) a Yamaha RX-V463BL, but it mostly will only output the same type of signal that was fed through the input. So it doesn't do any conversion.

Yamaha RX-V663. I have seen it for $500, but I swear some people got it for less. See the 663 thread

"HDMI upconversion of all analog souces". I guess this is what I should look for in a receiver? I like the specs on that system but it's out of my price range for a receiver unless I can't find something else.

I'm not looking for anything high-end; just need something that can help me reduce cabling to the tv, and provide at least 5.1 sound.
