I recently bought the MX-500 and there are a couple of buttons on my Philips TV Remote that the MX-500 will not learn correctly. So I looked around here to see that many are using the JP1 solution. Rather than going that route I figured I would try using what I already have, a Pocket PC.
I installed Pronto Edit on my laptop, edited a .ccf file with the codes I needed and then loaded that file onto my Pocket PC with PDAwin's TV remote software already loaded. I then had the MX learn from the Pocket PC.
Seems like a great work around...being that I have the equipment already.............now, to my point.
Rather than using my pocket pc as a liason, is there any software that is made to talk through a laptop's irda port directly to the remote? It would definitely speed things up!
Any an all help is appreciated.
