I have a LC-26DA5U Sharp LCD, now im trying to get the HDMI working with the DVI output from my computer, but the max resolution i can get its 720 by 480!!! Im running windows XP with RADEON 7000 , Im not allow to change the resolution. I try to over write the resolution settings, and the picture of the tv goes crazy... any ideas?

Although I was able to get native res OKAY in desktop mode with my Phillips LCD 32" TV and Radeon x800XT, the 3D gaming was total crap. Couldn't get anything higher than 800x600 with HDMI connection. You may try using different display drivers for your radeon card to see if that fixes the problem. Also try adjusting the refresh rates as well.

Not only VGA connection (if setup properly, using ultra high-end cables) will provide superb picture quality but you can also go full range of resolutions. For PC use, VGA comes first place. DVI-D come second.
I was messing with the refresh rate, i only got it working on 1980 by 1080 with 30 hertz interlaced, i tried changing the resolition, the interlaced option goes away...know any program to over write the settings?
you can only get HD resoluitons using a DVI to HDMI cable, becyase although DVI is also a PC video out, HDMI is not and thus doesnt support other resolutions other than HD resoluitons......although 1280x720 looks pretty good, but not a good as 1366x768..native res on my westy w7 thru VGA.....ahhhhhh
The closest I was able to get on my 26" Sony was 1360X768, using the VGA input...
