I'm planning on ripping all of my 500ish CD's to AAC file format. I really want to use FLAC but since I'm using all mac products it seems it's just easier to use the AAC file format.

Anyway, I'm kind of confused about the file format because it seems as though there are several versions of this file format. I'm actually wanting the Apple Lossless file format but I've heard/read that .aac is the file extension it uses.

I'm also considering using a CD ripping company and it seems as though they can rip to AAC but not sure if its the Lossless version.
