Hi!

I have a sound blaster x-fi titanium hd sound card and a logitech z906 speaker system. They are connected via optical. Now, I want to get Sony MDR-DS6500 headpones which are also surround, and connect them to my sound card again via optical. However, the sound card has only one optical, how can I work this out? I just don't want to go under my desk and switch cables everytime I want to swtich between headphones and the speaker system.

Thanks!

Yep, that easy. Just keep in mind if you use a passive splitter you decrease the level of light ouput to each optical cable. This will have no effect on most equipment and using short cables (3-6ft). However using longer cables you may find the signal either drops out or doesn't get received at all. In that case you'll either need to use a booster/extender or an active splitter.
