I am able to connect my Asus G1 to the pioneer 5080 using the dvi to HDMI cable. The video looks great. I realize DVI does not output sound to the HDMI, so I bought a 3.5mm connector with the red/white audio connectors(please bear with me in the explaination I'm not an audio guy). I plugged in the red/whi audio connectors to all the audio ports on the back and side to the tv to get audio with no luck. The headphone jack on the computer is a spidf? type so it says it will export the audio...I do NOT have a audio receiver yet, just using the tv's speakers. I read the manual and followed the pc to tv directions with no luck.

The only difference from the manual is Im using the HDMI versus the vga port.

MAN any help would be appreciated.

The goal here is ti watch netflix movies over the from the pc to tv.

One of the HDMI ports has a pc stereo input right next to it. I believe its one of those headphones type jacks. Hope I'm right as thats how I was planning to hook up my HTPC once its built. If that does work, please report back!
