Connecting PC to Sony KV-36HS420..

I am trying to connect my PC to my Sony KV-36HS420.

I have DVI out of my ATI 9000 with a DVI-HDMI adapter on the end of my DVI cable.

I have tried setting the Resolution to both 1920x1080 and 1024x720.

I get a boot screen and WinXP screen but no desktop.

I just get a grey screen.

I have the latest Catalyst drivers loaded.
