Hi everyone. Is it possible for me to connect my PS3 to my Harman Kardon 3390 receiver (which has no HDMI ports) for audio while still connecting the ps3 to the TV via HDMI? I don't really know much about this sort of stuff but stumbled upon this forum and thought it might be of help.


My TV is a Panasonic Viera TC-32LX85 if that matters. Thanks!

Maybe, the PS3 has the analog audio "hot" all the time, not sure if it does...


In any case, look in set-up and change the audio from HDMI to analog.

Yes, you can connect the PS3 to a display using HDMI for video and to a sound system using optical or analog for audio. You would need to configure the PS3 optical output for multichannel.

The 3390 is an analog only stereo receiver...


OP ignore the comments about the optical output, since you don't have a connection for it...with the 3390.

Thanks, guys. Can I use the Red/Yellow/White RCA cable the PS3 came with for audio or do I need to buy a different one?
