My wife's car only has a CD player. We would like to be able to run our Skyfi and iPod in the car using a wireless FM modulator. I'm trying to avoid removing her stereo and hooking up the wired modulator which I know is better.
We also have an iPod that just needs a standard headphones plug for output like the Skyfi.
Can I buy the Skyfi wireless modulator and use it for my iPod as well? From what I can tell, it looks like the modulator plugs into the cigarette lighter then plugs into the Skyfi twice (power, audio out). It seems logical to me that I should be able to take the audio jack and plug it into my iPod then just leave the power cord dangling since my iPod has it's own internal power.
I guess the thing that would stop me from doing this is if the XM FM modulator is designed to only work with XM for some reason. I hate to buy two different kits for no reason.
If anyone has any experience with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
