You can't connect speakers with speaker wires to the RCA outputs. The RCA outputs are meant to be connected to a powered external receiver. You would typically hook the speakers up to that. Use the fixed audio output if you want to control the volume with the recevier, or the variable audio output if you want to control the volume with the TV. Use the speaker jacks to hook up a speaker. See page 12 of the manual for details.
