Hi all can u guys give me a hand regarding this questions thanks. Here my setup connecting to a LG 32LC2R for now (yes its old and small) (connection types here) http://www.afterdawn.com/hardware/pr.../323/lg_32lc2r

Window XP PRO sp3

CPU: AMD x2 7750

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H (build in ATI 3200 video card)

RAM: Kingston 2gigs DDR2-800

HDD OS: Seagate 500GB

HDD: Storage Seagate 500GB

Case & PSU: Coolermaster CAC-T05 with 460w

Optical Drive: Pioneer 118 DVD Drive

Motherboard has these connection types: HDMI/DVI and optical for sound

My questions is:

1: what the best way to connect this PC directly to the LG 32LCR2 (since the TV and the mobo has HDMI sound like i need to use 1 HDMI cable for connecting right? will i get sound as well as video through this?.

2: If i buy a Yamaha AVR 1900B what the best way to connect?. Can i connection 1 HDMI cable from my PC to AVR and another HDMI cable to the TV. Or 1 HDMI cable to the TV and a Optical cable from the PC to the AVR?

Oh i believe i need to install this ( ATI HDMI Audio Driver ) to work properly with HDMI on the mobo?

Please could u guys answer to both questions.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Peter,

1- HDMI to TV. I couldnt figure out from the TV manual (badly done btw) if your TV set is HDCP compliant but it should be.

2- Don't bother routing the HDMI to the receiver. Just use an optical cable from the mobo to the receiver.

3- The latest Catalyst 9.7 driver set is good for the HD3200. You'll find the HDMI audio drivers together with the onboard audio driver on the Gigabyte support site here:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ProductID=2995

Careful: check if your mobo is the REV 1 or REV 2 of this model number.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the help

Firstly Regarding the HDCP not 100% sure but the TV does have HDMI port. Now if the TV is not HDCP can I use AnyDVD to over ride that for that to work?. Or should i get a DVI-HDMI cable instead (or this also need to be HDCP as well?)

Secondly i thought i need the ATI HDMI Audio Device driver according to this thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...blingHDMIAudio for it to work for sound or the Gigabyte link is the same thing?
