Connection ?s for a Pany PX80U

Hey all!

I got a PX80U for an early Christmas present and LOVE it! I now find myself with an Apple TV from my wife!
Seems very cool, but need some advice on how to hook all my stuff up.

I am using component video for my cable in, component for a DVD player and audio for cable and DVD through an older non-HDMI receiver. The px80u has 2 component connections in the back and 2 HDMIs (I would rather not use the front connection full time). The Apple TV has HDMI or component options.

I am not using HDMI inputs since I am not using the audio from the TV (and the TV is not 1080p). If I use the HDMI for the Apple TV or cable, can I use the optical audio out or the Prog audio out to get audio to my receiver? Also, it seems from reading the TV's manual, that if audio out from the TV is used with an HDMI input, that the audio will be only 2 channel. Is there a way around this? Basically I want to hook up cable, dvd and apple tv and do not have an HDMI capable receiver.

Sorry for the rambling question. I posted this in the owners thread, but thought this might get a few more views. Thanks in advance!

Yes, the TV's Optical output and Prog Out audio outputs will send audio to your A/V Receiver.

There is no way around this on any of the external inputs - the audio for whatever you connect to the TV will be output in 2-ch stereo, and it will be up to your A/V Receiver to convert it to surround sound. My Tivo Series 3 is connected to the TV via HDMI, and i send the audio via the TV's Optical Out to my A/V Receiver which then converts it into Dolby Pro Logic surround sound. My DVD player's Optical Out is connected directly to my A/V Receiver though as i don't want to run it's audio through the TV.
