I have a choice to make regarding connecting my satellite box to my Pioneer 503MXE.


Can either go S-Video to Denon A1SR and let the amp convert to Component, or use RGB and one of JS's RGB to VGA boxes.


I'm leaning towards the RGB to VGA route as maintaining the best signal quality, but open to suggestions.

Hold out a few weeks and John will have his new RGB to Component converter ready to ship.


Then you can use the Component switching on your Denon as I'm assuming you have a Component (YPbPr) DVD player too.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that one.


Since I presume there is no reason to believe that delivering the signal to the plasma via VGA will be noticably better than Component, that would simplify my connections.


I'll wait for the RGB->Component box, I have 8 video grade co-ax cores in the wall anyway, so plenty of options covered if I need to change my mind later

I have a 503CMX and there is no picture quality difference between its VGA and component inputs.
