I've been considering purchasing a mits 55 inch rptv and was wondering how accurate the color decoders are for the gold plus line. I already own a 2 year old 65 inch model that was has some red push. The salesman told me that mitsubishi put in a menu that allowes the owner to adjust red, green, etc and showed this to me. Sounded like the correct fix to the problem, but I think I've heard that adjusting those values is easy for 480i but not 480p or 1080i. Is this true and why?

Thanks,

If you get a set with intergrated tuner (55511 and above) you can adjust the color decoder for all resolutions via the service menu. The user menu adjustments only apply to 480i (I wish I knew the logic behind that). 55411 and 55311 will likely require a special I2C fix to allow for color decoder correction on 480p and 1080i...not yet available AFAIK.
