Consumer level HD test pattern generator

Buy the Sencore for $5K! Not much else out there that I know of.

What about a DVHS machine with Digital Video Essentials, wouldn't that do it?

Any chance of a .m2 or .m2t file of some useful 1080i patterns? I have a firewire connection to my HD Box, and I can feed it as if it was connected to a D-VHS , just wondering

Does'nt it have to output tri-level sync to be a valid HD test signal?
