I have a strange problem with my display (Aquos LC37HV4E). When my PC enters standby (ACPI S3) it properly shuts down. However when the power saving features of windows kick in and try to power the monitor off it doesn't properly shut itself off, instead it cycles on and off about 10 times and eventually hangs needing a manual power toggle to fix it. I think this is because a different DPMS command is used by the BIOS on standby compared to what windows is using. The four DPMS commands are detailed here:

Does anyone know how you can get windows to use a specific DPMS mode when trying to power off the monitor? I have the choice in my motherboard's BIOS which applies when the machine enters ACPI S3, but can't find anything comparable for Windows XP.
