ok here is my basic set up, 2STB connect to the computer downstairs running Vista media center. i have been using an xbox 360 as an extender in the living room and a dma2100 in the upstairs bedroom. i am on my 3rd xbox from RROD, and would like to be able to access internet content and email in the living room and ran across the very tempting ASUS AT3N7A-I Intel Atom 330 (1M Cache, 1.6GHz, Dual-Core) NVIDIA ION Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo - Retail combo for starting a living room based HTPC.
i want to keep the downstairs setup as is with the tv being fed from here throughout the house, but use the HTPC in the living room to access live tv, pvr functions etc. is it possible to control the tv functions (ie channel up and down) from the living room htpc? i don't want webguide or orb though or another software option.
