besides expensive...


I am looking for new front floorstanders...and have narrowed down to a couple, including the Linn Ninka. Looking far and wide for some experiences to help the decision...searching on the forum only brings the occassional reference to them as a potential audition


quality, power requirements, etc...anything!

I don't have any input, but i am curious how you can across these. The only Linns I ever heard were were small stand mounts (Kans maybe?), over 20 years ago.

went into a local High End store in Dallas looking for something completely different...they carried the full line of Linn...

These are infinite baffle speakers - meaning that there is no output port or transmission line for the bass. That accounts for the great sounding tight bass.


However there are some caveats to this design:


a) you need very good electronics - Arcam quality at a minimum


b) These are 1 of the few designs that benefits from biamping - or in the case of the Ninkas triamping makes a difference.


c) Compared to some other speakers in this price range, there is a slight coloration to vocals especially female.


These are very good speakers but the cost of suitable electronics should be factored into the equation.
