My convergence is always OFF when I first turn on the set (especially noticable w/ digital cable text menu) - then after some time passes it ends up being pretty much spot on. Is this normal? I've had the set a little less than a month.

That seems unusual. I have the 57F510 (just one week old), and I don't have any noticible convergence problems when I turn it on or after I leave it on for a while.


I would at least go into the 9 point convergence and check it out right after you turn it on to see if anything is out of whack. The 117 point convergence isn't too hard to do either, but it is difficult to get the outer edges 100%.

Yea, I have done that (looked at the 9), and it is off when its first turned on, but it always fixes itself after it 'warms up'.

Well I called Hitachi last night and this behaviour (i.e., convergence being off after set is turned off)..is NOT normal. Checked out my 9-pt tool after turn on, and in 3-4 points there were CLEARLY red and blue '+''s sticking out from behind the white.


At any rate, I'm, swapping this one for another 51f510, once the converge fixes itself it looks great, but that kind of drift is totally unacceptable.
