I was wondering if this was possible. I have a pc that exports ddl 5.1 through my soundcard and out to my sony surround theater system. I also have a ps3 that I occasionally use and I have to switch out each cord. So im trying to figure out if there was anything out there that can join the 2 signals into one so I can hear both at the same time over my system.

You can get a mixer with digital inputs. That will run you several hundred, at least, but it will let you play both sources at the same time. Or you can get a cheap-o switch from monoprice for less than $50.

If your receiver also has a coaxial digital input, you can get a fiber-to-coax digital converter for less than $100, and use that input. Or get an affordable separate sound card or output device that puts out coax for your computer.

Or get an HDMI receiver and run the PS/3 that way :)
