Converting DVI to VGA?

I currently have a GeForce 7600 GT video card on my PC with two DVI outputs. It is hooked up to a Gateway 23" LCD monitor at the moment, however, I want to switch to using a HP A7217A 24" CRT because I'm tired of the mediocre black levels on the LCD.

The one problem I see is that the CRT only has a VGA input. Is there an easy (and cheap) way to convert DVI to VGA (with good quality)
or do I need to look at getting a new video card?

Your videocard already has VGA output, or it should (I've yet to see a PC videocard that has only DVI-D ports on it).

The DVI ports on your card are DVI-I and should have the "four plus crosskey" section on the one side of the connector. That section is the analog (VGA) section. All you need to get VGA output from the card is a simple, widely/cheaply available, DVI-VGA adapter to use the VGA signals in that portion of the connector.

At least one of these adapters are usually packaged with videocards, so you may not even have to buy one, just check your videocard box, if you still have it (or if you ever had a box for it).

Yeah, you just need an adapter that really should have come with the card already. Every card I have purchased in the last few years has come with at least one of them.
This is what you're looking for:

You should be able to pick one up at BestBuy or a local computer electronics/office supply store.
