Cool stuff, how many more years before acoustic "private zones" will become reality?

Neat article, "Engineers build first nonreciprocal acoustic circulator: A one-way sound device"

A circulator for sound. The arrows represent acoustic signals flowing through the device (diameter: ~20 centimeters), which circulates sound in a nonreciprocal fashion: Signals can flow from left to top, from top to right, and from right to left, but not in the opposite directions. This creates one-way communication channels for sound, allowing listeners to hear but not be heard in return. Credit: Erik Zumalt, Cockrell School of Engineering, UT Austin.

Reading between the lines, it appears that like the microwave equivalent, t it is not a broad band device by audio standards. In microwaves a device that functions over a tiny fraction of an octave is considered to be relatively broadbanded. According to most authorities, the normal audio band is about 10 octaves.
So they focus on the vocal range 100-8k hz freq first?

or even just specific note freq and test/expand capability?

Maybe when I retire in 12 years this will be possible....
