I saw a patch somewhere that allowed you to copy a dvd to the showstopper... ie.. it removed the protection.

Can someone direct me to this patch?

Don't need the macrovision hack anymore. Replay updated the Showstopper software (vs 3.02) months ago so you can record DVD right now.

You mean just plug the dvd into the showstopper and record?

Cant be that easy...

Just plug it in. If you haven't already done so you will need to go into setup and configure the input to 'other".

OK, so if I have a widescreen DVD, and I have a widescreen display, will Replay 4k record widescreen? And will my display display it when it is played back?

I expect so. I only know DVD widescreen recording is still widescreen when viewed on my traditional size screen.

I hooked the s-video and the left/right channel sounds outputs to it and

it works like a charm!
