Correct height for a wall mounted plasma?

2375 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  calv1n
I'm considering getting a 40-42" plasma and mounting it on a wall (in the corner) of my living room. It's not going to be above anything (like a fireplace or whatnot) - so I was curious what the normal install height is for the wall mount?

I don't want to feel like I'm in a hospital while watching TV so I don't want to go too high - but by the same token - I don't want to install it so low that I'd be thinking I should have just used a stand.

Is there some sort of standard I should be going by? Thanks.

Billken,

Pretty widely used standard is a 30 degree viewing cone from the seating position (eye level been the bottom of the cone then tilt 30 degrees up for your zone or range the display should be in).

There are a few threads going into more detail here on AVS you can likely find with a quick search.

Cheers
