Cost of Upgrade From Sharp XV-Z9000U

I have the Sharp XV-Z9000U. I'm considering an upgrade. However, I don't want to buy another projector unless I'm getting significant improvement at a modest cost.

My screen will be a Screen Research 110" acoustically transparent screen and the room is a dedicated with no ambient light. Ideal throw distance would be 19-21'.

What would it cost to truly upgrade from the XV-Z9000U? I love the projector, but I've only been using a 92" diagonal screen, and I'm concerned that the move to a larger and transparent screen may reveal the projector's limitations from a viewing distance of 12' on a 110" diagonal.

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. For example the Sharp 12K is better than the 9K, but I dont know if spending the 12K MSRP would be cost effective for you. ON the other hand, buying something like a BenQ 8700+ or the Sharp 2000 would make sense because the cost of the improvement becomes a smaller number. Its kind of hard to say, because for some ,getting a 5% improvement (for example) is worth 10K and for some it isnt

I say go with the Sharp 2000. You will see a nice improvement for the money spent.

I have a friend that has the Sharp 9000 and personally, I think my newly acquired AE-700 throws a better image than the 9000.
