I have comcast cable just upgraded to hd/dvr box hd pics are awsome all other channels are fuzzy. So i called a tech out he tested the line and told me i have six other tv's with cable and my signal is weak so that will happen to the other channels but for $80.00 they could install a booster for the signal. So is this a bunch of B/S or not. i tried to use a splitter and go into the box the use hdmi to TV. then on the other side of the splitter go into antena A for the other channels but when i tried this weak signal came up on the tv. SO any ideas of what i should do.

Please help

The incoming line should be tested with a SLM (meter) and replaced free by Comcast if it has any loss. Only one splitter should ever be used on a home. Line amplifiers can be helpful for drops over 125', but they are band-aids to the real problems.
I have seven outlets and need an amp to get signal around the house so yes, amps like this are common after a certain # of outlets and accumulated footage of internal wiring.

It is reasonable and you probably should do it.
