Dan just called me from Cousins Video with good news. He told me that their first shipment of DTV1080's will be in Cousin's hands next week and they will promply ship them to customers at that time. As I pre-ordered my DTV1080 on July 30, he told me they would be receiving enough that I would receive one in this first shipment. Dan assured me that this was finally firm news on the DTV1080's arrival.

No he didn't indicate how many he expected. However, he did say he was calling all of their customers who would receive a DTV1080 from this first shipment.


Ken, if you ordered yours in the same timeframe, I would expect a call from Cousins soon. Also, do you really think the DTV1080 is going to be discontinued so soon after its release? The DIRECTV/Echostar merger isn't even close to being approved by the Department of Justice. Regardless of the merger developments, this receiver will still be useable for OTA digital reception.
