I would like to take advantage of a package price from the local cable company (phone, internet & tv), but I need some advice. Will I find with the use of their digital cable/decoder box a superior picture quality over regular cable (I just had a senior tech boost the signal which helped tremendously). The Cox decoder does not support hd tv. I live in a community and a house location that would be difficult with a dish--I have no available wall facing southeast.

Thanks for the help. Rob.

I had Cox Digital service in VA until last January when I got a Dish setup. At that time in Virginia only the channels above 100 were in digital and therefore none of the traditionally popular stations were sent in digital (all stations below 100 were the identical analog signal). From their advertisements this fact was not readily apparent. The video and audio (digital) signal quality for the channels above 100 were on par with the satellite equivalents. The box had s-video out and coaxial SPDIF.

YMMV
